2014 Oct 23rd - Q42

Beginning on October 21st, Kansas City kicked off their World Series in Major League Baseball against the San Francisco Giants. To show support for their team, radio stations in San Francisco made a temporary ban on playing a certain song. As a counter, 99.7 The Point, a Kansas City station, announced that they would play this song every hour on the hour from 7:00 in the morning till 7:00 at night on the first day of the Series. What song, inspired indirectly from the Kansas City baseball team, are we talking about?

[Highlight blank after arrow for the answer]
=> "Royals" by Lorde - the inspiration for a song on the luxury of pop musicians came to her after seeing an image in the July 1976 edition of National Geographic showing Kansas City Royals baseball player George Brett signing baseballs, with his team's name emblazoned across his shirt.
