=> Hong Kong - in light of the recent protests, or the Umbrella Revolution, these numbered shorthands have been used a lot to express political anger. They hold special meaning : #689 for the number of votes Hong Kong chief executive C.Y. Leung (whom the crowd wants ousted) received to get his position; #926 for the day the protests kicked off; #8964 for the date of the Tiananmen Massacre.
