2014 Oct 30th - Q68

Following the death of Michael Sata in London, Guy Scott was installed as the interim President of Zambia till the elections for a new President. With Scottish ancestry, Scott cannot compete in the elections, as his parents were not born in Zambia.
But in this upcoming short tenure of Presidency, Scott has become the first white President of a continental African country since twenty years. The question is, who was the last white President of an African country, before Guy Scott?

[Highlight blank after arrow for the answer]
=> FW de Klerk of South Africa - his Presidency ended with the end of the Apartheid regime in South Africa.
